Vintage Ties Guide
You know that old box of ties you left in the Attic. Do you remember the good old days when ties were not either good or bad, that the tie really depended on who was wearing it and their opinion. Although all of the ties may not have come back in to style they may be worth some money... even though some people are selling them for pennies.
This country, as has many others, has gone through a lot of phases. Each one had it's ups and downs and it's winners and it's losers but it has bread a lot of ideas that aren't around any more today. Whether this is due to a lack of success or something else, no body knows, but one things is for sure is that there were a lot of vintage ties out there that are worth more than people think. Lets face it, today people don't have what it takes to make ties that some people made way back in the day.
Where to Find a Good Tie
If you are looking for cheap ties you don't have to scour the mall looking for some design that didn't do so well. If you think about it all you have to do is get a tie that is not super expensive. Ties can last a long time. Just make sure they do not need special care or special cleaning as that will probably cost you more, as will buying a low quality tie that will just fade or fall apart. Ties can last some time. That being said you might want to think about ties that last too long. I'm not talking about vintage ties or anything. I'm talking about good will or any other place that sells old, unwanted or previously owned clothing. Ties are actually one of the best thing you can buy there as they never really touched the person and since ties really haven't changed much they should be in style. You also know they are good quality because they have lasted long enough to not be needed any more.
Older Ties
Most older ties are still quite good. Now some of them may actually be out of style. The 70's and 80's were a time of questionable fashion, however some ties were actually quite unique and are not sold any more today. If you know anyone who used to work in an office you might want to ask them if they have any ties that they do not want. You might be surprised. In my case I wasn't... Not with the first person, but as it turned out, someone I knew had some old ties that they were getting rid of. There were some really nice ties.
