Tie a Bow Tie

Tie a Bow Tie

Tying a bow tie is not much different than tying a tie. There are a few subtle differences but there are a few key concepts to tying the bowtie. Note the position of the bow tie. It is around the neck. This means that it will require methods that produce the same result in the same circumstances. This may be a bit misleading as a bow tie is very different from a tie. the reason is that bow ties do not need to perform the exact same task. Otherwise people would just say it's all the same. Then it would be very well known.

Because this is not the case there must be a section dedicated to those of us who prefer to wear a bow tie. May I first say congratulation on an excellent choice? Bow ties stand for nobility and pride. It is not often people where bow ties as they do not fit suit everyone. Though a lot of people like to wear bowties and they look great. If you are worried about looking like a waiter, worry not. There is a reason waiter's wear them, ties can be very inconvenient and do not always present a neatness that only bow ties can give.

Tying a Bow Tie

A clean cut bow tie should be tie evenly. Be sure to line up the tie properly. Nothing looks sillier than a bowtie than is not lined up correctly. You may very well end up looking like you have an hour glass attached to your neck. This will take away from your appearance and will generally undermine your authority and dignity. Don't let that happen. Use a mirror while tying any sort of tie, is sure to keep and eye on the tie at al times. This will prevent you from having to start the bow tie tying all over again. Though looking at the mirror the whole time may seem slow, it will save you time in the long run.

 Instructions

When tying a bow tie, take the entire bow tie and put it aroung your neck.  Put the two ends of the bow tie in fron to you so that they hang down towards your chest.  The chose a side of the bow tie to make longer.  Once you have chose the side, pull on it to make it a little longer than the other.  The short side needs to be just long enough so that you the thin parts of the bow tie can touch.  Then take the longer side fo the bow tie and take it over the shorter side, then around and under then back over.  Just like the first step in tying a tie.  Once you have done that, take the lower side, the shorter side of the bwo tie and then pinch the thin part and bring that to the knot you have just made.  This shouls cause a fold or a loop when you do this.  The loop should be to the longer side of the bow tie.  the high side, or longer side is then brought up and around that loop and down across the center where the knot is.  Then take the loop to the right and the other piece to the left of the know and pinch them together and pull it off to the opposite side of where the loop used to be.  You should be able to see a hole that the bow tie has made.  Take the very top, not the end or the middle, and basically feed it back through that hole until it reaches the middle or notch in that side.  Once it is that far through, let go! Now take your hands, grab both loops, and adjust.  The bow tie should have been snug or comfortable from the start and should now be put together perfectly.  if not, try it again.  Reading how to put the tie on can be harder than a person just teaching you.
